Bustons' chair
Slowly working through the book 'Drawing on the RIght Side of the Brain' by Betty Edwards.
This exercise asks us to look at the negative spaces within and surrounding objects and draw them rather than the object itself.
Been putting this off for a couple of days and doing anything but sitting down to it. Today fate got in my way and the job I had planned to go got scuppered by an Apple update. Already at my desk I decided to just start by toning the paper with a graphite stick and that would at least be a start.
Apple had other plans with the update so for the next 30 minutes I got engrossed in the task ahead. As always, I put these things off and once I start them they are never as bad as they seem.
Anyway, heres the sketch. Not perfect, but still happy enough with it. I will give this another go for sure. But will also be applying the principle to other sketching.
